How to read it.

Each dot is a search

We searched from that exact spot, the way a customer standing there would, and wrote down where the business came up. Green means it made the top three, the three businesses Google shows first.

The ring is the shop

Most businesses are strongest close to home and fade with distance. The map shows you where the fade starts and which side of town it's worst on.

It's a snapshot

Maps change with the time of day and the phone doing the search. So every map carries its date, and we compare like with like: the same 81 points, the same search, month after month.

How we measure.

On your map, the positions come from real Google Maps results, collected through a search data provider for each of the 81 points. We never screenshot Google or copy anything from your profile onto the map.

The grid
9 by 9 points, 2.4 miles apart, centered on your shop. About 19 miles across.
The search
One job you want more of, like “water heater repair”, the same one every month.
The timing
The same time of day each month, because results shift through the day.
The day 90 read
Your three money services, each scanned twice on day one and twice on day 90. The promise uses the average of the three, and you get every grid as a spreadsheet.
What it isn't
A promise. Every map is a dated snapshot of what Google showed, from where, at that time.

The streets on this page are OpenStreetMap data that we host ourselves. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, drawn with Protomaps.
