Learn before you buy.

No form, no email, no call. What's worth knowing before you hire anyone to work on your map, your site or your reviews.

How Google picks the top three.

Google's own help page names three things. How well your profile matches the search, how far you are from the person searching and how well known your business is.

Match
Your categories, services and site pages have to say what you actually do, in the words people search. This is the part you control most.
Distance
You can't move your shop. That's why the same search gives a different top three across town, and why we measure from 81 spots.
Known
Reviews, mentions and a busy profile. Google's page says it plainly: “More reviews and positive ratings can help your business's local ranking.”

Five questions to ask anyone you hire.

Ask us too. Our answer is under each one.

  1. Is the price written down?

If it's only on a call, it can change on the next one. A written price is one you can hold anyone to.

Ours$497 a month, $497 setup, on the site and in our terms.

  2. How long am I locked in, and how do I leave?

Six and twelve month minimums are common, and so is renewing on its own or leaving only by phone. Ask for the exit in writing.

Ours90 days from go-live. Then month to month, cancelled from your portal or by email.

  3. Who owns the website if I go?

Some agencies keep the site, some hand it over and some sell it back. Whatever they do, your domain should be in your name from day one.

OursYour domain and profile are always yours. The website is licensed to you while you're a client, and we'll quote a buyout if you want to keep it.

  4. Will you put a tracking number on my Google profile?

A number you don't own on your profile can be switched off or pointed elsewhere when you leave.

OursNo. Your number stays your number.

  5. Can I see the work before I pay?

A pitch is easy. A map of your own town is harder to fake.

OursYes. Your 81-point map comes first, free.

What an 81‑point map tells you.

One search from your shop tells you how you look to your neighbors. A grid of 81 searches across your area tells you where the phone isn't ringing, and why.

Green spots are where you're in the top three. Grey spots are where nobody searching sees you. The shape usually tells the story: strong near the shop, fading with distance, weaker on the side where a competitor sits.

Try it on your town.
